Elise Y. Smith is currently employed with FamilySearch. She recently graduated from BYU Idaho with a bachelor's degree in professional studies and beginner and advanced certificates in family history research.
She has her own research consulting company, Orrigins. The discovery, connection, and preservation process of family history can be overwhelming. Elise has a unique ability to engage people in a truly joyful experience as they seek out answers to their family history questions. She is sensitive and builds a rapport of trust, inspiration, and kindness with those with whom she works.
With over two decades of experience, Elise has helped answer both simple and complex research questions. In her own family history, she has had difficult family dynamics and understands the heartache that can come and the sensitivity required to rebuild bridges once torn down. She loves to be helpful and finds joy in the process of helping others connect to and preserve their family’s identity.
