The Hebrew Alphabet class is a 10-week program where we take it slow and easy. Each week we’ll learn 2-3 new consonants and a couple new vowels. We’ll practice reading, writing and speaking in the new alphabet. If you’ve ever wanted to visit Israel or pick up a Torah this class will get you on the right foot! Very little homework each week.

For the conversational group, plan to spend about 30min/day of homework to keep up with our weekly group meetings.  The class will match the pace of those who participate.  If we need to slow down or speed up, we will.  But a solid commitment to attend most weeks and to do the homework is required.

We will be using the free Aleph with Beth immersive/communicative learning system for Biblical Hebrew which is different than Modern Hebrew.  The first few weeks are the hardest because of the  new alphabet and reading right to left.  You’ll be surprised how quickly you pick it up!  But again we will not leave anyone in the dust.

Feel free to come and just sit in on a class or two and see if you like it and want to keep learning with us.  We will have occasional native Hebrew guests and field trips to synagog on a few Friday evenings.

No fee, no required books.  There are some free materials that you can download and print at home if you’d like to.
